Share-it-now pressure
"Share before it gets deleted!" is a trick to skip the checking step.
Some messages beg you to share them fast. "Send this to 10 friends." "Before they take it down." "They do not want you to know."
Why the rush? Because if you stop to check, you might find out it is not true. Hurry is how misinformation travels.
Nothing true gets less true if you wait an hour. A real fact can wait while you check it.
Spot it
“Forward this to everyone you know before it gets deleted! They are hiding the truth!”
Who is "they"? Why would waiting matter? The only thing the message wants is for you to spread it.
Detective move
Make a rule: never share in a hurry. Check first, then decide. Ask a grown-up when you are not sure.
